Joy Horner was a Registered Midwife for 21 years (independent midwife for 16 years), and registered nurse for 20 years. She has attended births in hospitals, in birth centres and at home.

As a retired midwife Joy is now a Sacred birth consultant and Birthkeeper. She was trained in Shamanic Midwifery by Jane Hardwicke-Collings, and trusts the Sacred and wild nature of pregnancy and birth.

She offers private consultations for Birth story healing, preparing for birth after trauma, Shamanic Pregnancy and birth planning and ceremony, VBAC, and breech birth planning. She specialises in supporting families who’s previous birth or life experiences have been traumatic. She's a speaker at national and international conferences and also provides workshops and trainings for Birthkeeper's, Doulas and Midwives
