Wisdom and Generosity

It is the society that is grounded in the fact that we all live upon our Mother Earth. She is our Great Mother, the Source & Foundation of all that we are & all that we have. In 2023, an amazing donation was received by the Glastonbury Goddess Temple to start a Sacred Birth Centre, after one generous individual heard Kathy Jones speaking on the importance of mothers and mothering in our society.
The Sacred Birth Centre was formed as an independent not-for-profit. It is inspired by the Goddess spirituality that informs Kathy's wisdom but is grounded in earth wisdom and its services are for all faiths and none.

The Vision of MotherWorld offers a radically different view of the way in which can live together upon our Mother Earth, one that is both a return to an indigenous understanding of our place upon Her Earth, and also one that is forward-thinking, using developments in earth-based spirituality, society, science and technology to support that indigenous awareness and the life forces of Mother Earth.
This Vision is for all peoples on the planet. It describes the world we would like to live in, the world we want to create.
Our beginning
The Sacred Birth Centre was birthed as an organisation in the Spring of 2023 & since then we have been working on setting up all the things required as a new organisation. A first phase website was put together, and we launched on the international day of the midwife, to introduce the project to the community.
We held the first ever Sacred Birth Conference in November 2023, which was a wonderful success, bringing together a team of passionate, inspiring Birth workers, supporters, artists & musicians.
Many wonderful birth keepers and community members from the Glastonbury community and beyond have been involved in our birth process.
What's next?
The Sacred Birth Centre is embarking on an exciting new phase as we continue to build a movement for empowered, respectful, and trauma-free birth experiences.
We now have a dedicated space where birthing families, birth workers, and advocates can come together for education, support, and transformative care. We are based at 90 The High Street, in Glastonbury, Somerset.
Our Birth Stories Project invites mothers and families to safely share their experiences, regardless of when they birthed or whether their story is positive, challenging or transformative. By collecting and sharing these stories, we can break the silence around birth trauma, build awareness, and advocate for better, more compassionate maternity care.
